Contractors & Builders is committed to the safety of our employees. Even if you follow proper workplace safety techniques, it’s possible to be injured on the job. All accidents, injuries or unsafe working conditions should be reported immediately to Eplica, Inc., the corporate services provider that handles workers’ compensation claims, safety matters and benefits for our employees — even if the injuries seem minor. Here's what to do if you or a fellow employee is injured:
- Get first aid. In the event of a life-threatening injury, call 911.
- Report the incident to the Eplica Injury Hotline: 888.237.1223.
After you’ve reported an injury:
- Eplica will authorize you to be sent to a clinic if necessary. This authorization must be obtained prior to admittance so that your workers’ compensation benefits are not compromised.
- Your C&B recruiter will take a statement from you to get the details of the injury or accident.
- If you are able, return to your assignment after treatment at the clinic. When possible, follow-up treatment appointments should occur during your non-working hours.
All accidents and injuries will be thoroughly investigated by Eplica and/or your C&B representative. This includes an on-site inspection and collection of witness statements. We also conduct post-accident drug tests.
